First find where they're held. Then find what bail was set.

Fresno County's Main Jail is at 1225 M Street, downtown, and the Sheriff runs a public inmate search anyone can use. Information is always free, from the county and from us.

Find someone in custody

The Sheriff publishes a search anyone can use. A last name is all the form needs, and a first name narrows it down. This is the county's own tool, not ours.

No record yet? The Sheriff says a good deal of time can pass before the jail system hears about an arrest, so someone arrested recently may not show up right away. Call us anytime 24/7. We can help you track it down, and information is always free.

What if the county inmate search does not show the person?

A recent booking may not appear in the county's online inmate search right away. Check the spelling of the name and confirm that you are searching the county where the person may be held. A missing result does not, by itself, confirm that the person has been released.

Use the official jail information number listed on this page, or contact our office for help checking where the person is being held.

Which building they're in

The county runs three jail buildings downtown and decides who is housed where, so it isn't something you or we get to pick. The inmate record shows where they're housed. Check it before you go.

Visits, mail and money

The Sheriff handles all three, and each has its own rules.

Visits

Each building has its own visiting schedule. The Sheriff posts the visiting schedules and the visitor dress code.

Mail

Letters don't go to M Street. Jail mail goes to PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193, with the person's name, booking number, JID and facility code 1900 on it, or it comes back.

Money

Deposits go through TouchPay, at the kiosks in the jail lobbies, online or by phone. Online and by phone you need the booking number and facility number 293721. The Sheriff's steps.

Jail and court phone numbers

These reach the Sheriff and the court, not Lucky.

  • Jail Information Office. The Sheriff asks the public to call this line with general questions.(559) 475-9491
  • Inmate information, the Sheriff's other listed line(559) 600-8600
  • Court dates: Fresno Superior Court, Felony & Misdemeanor Court(559) 457-1801

Addresses and numbers here come from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and the Superior Court, and they change. If anything differs, the Sheriff's site is right.

Once bail is set

At booking, the jail sets bail from the court's county bail schedule, or a judge sets it. In California the cost of a bond is generally 10%. If the bail amount is $10,000, the cost would be $1,000. We do have rebates available that in many cases can reduce the cost of the bond.

Call us anytime 24/7 at (559) 268-4646, or send a request and an agent will reply by call, text or email, whichever you pick.

Can bail be posted on a warrant?

In many cases, bail can be posted at the court on a warrant. The court can then recall the warrant and set a court date. Whether that route is available depends on the warrant and the court's requirements.

Contact a licensed agent to check whether a bond can be posted and what the next steps would be. The court decides whether to recall the warrant; posting a bond does not guarantee that result.

What Lucky canand can't do

Lucky can't change a bail amount, move a release along, or reach information the county hasn't made public. A bail agent isn't part of the Sheriff's office and isn't part of the court.

The agent checks the bail amount the court has set, then walks you through the process and lets you know what the bond(s) would cost before you commit to anything. Nothing happens until you say so. If you would like to move forward, we can handle the paperwork in our Fresno office, or in many cases we can process the paperwork over the phone and online.
